Earth Day Project ‘22

(The Cereal Box Journey Continues)

Building on Last Year’s Success

After the overwhelming support and excitement from my first Earth Day project, I knew I had to keep the momentum going. If you’re familiar with my earlier work, you already know how this all started—with a pile of saved cereal boxes and a desire to create art from the everyday.

(If you’re curious about the backstory, check out my first Earth Day project here for more details!)

A New Chapter in Sustainability

This year, I continued the journey, but this time using all and any box I had, especially La Croix sparking water boxes. The process was smoother, thanks to the lessons learned last year, and I was able to dive straight into creating more unique, sustainable art pieces. Each box tells a new story but stays true to the same core message: creativity thrives when you use what you already have.

Evolving the Art

While the concept remained the same, this year’s pieces took on new life. I experimented with fresh designs while still using bold, primary colors to give each piece a vibrant, playful energy. The boxes, once again, served as both the foundation and a reminder of how small choices can lead to impactful change.

Fewer Photos, Bigger Impact

Although I didn’t capture as many behind-the-scenes moments this time around, the finished pieces speak for themselves. The simplicity of the process is mirrored in the simplicity of the message: sustainability and art can go hand in hand.

Looking Ahead

This project continues to be a reflection of my journey as an artist—one rooted in sustainability and resourcefulness. I’m excited to see how it evolves further, with each new piece adding to the story.
